It’s that time of year when the seasons change, kids are back to school and the energy around town is contagious…
And right in the middle of it all is the South Shore Community Center. For 75 years we have been a valuable resource for Cohasset families and the surrounding communities. Committed to providing a variety of programs from infant to adults, we offer something for everyone. From an NAEYC accredited Nursery School to a renovated kitchen space used for guest chef cooking classes, the Community Center also provides a competitive Gymnastics Program, Gym Dandy for toddlers, Karate and CPR/First Aid training.
We are a community. Not just a building. Our space is also home to a bowling alley used for birthday parties and special events, The South Shore Conservatory “Music Together” classes, the Woods School of Irish Dance and our annual Jingle Bell Walk.
The SSCC is not subsidized by the town or any public source. We rely on the generosity of the community, memberships, board donations, program fees and gifts from our friends like the South Shore Playhouse Associates, Inc., whose annual giving enables us to make significant improvements/upgrades/renovations to our facility including the Nursery School. It means so much to us that the programs we provide would not be possible without the generosity of our community.
So if you remember your first gymnastics class or still see your preschool friends around town, please consider making a donation to help us create memorable moments and friendships with a new generation. No gift goes unnoticed. Whatever size the donation; it is greatly appreciated and directly goes back to the community. Whether it is for updating the building, offering puppet shows or visits from Santa, your generosity keeps the SSCC a staple in the community.
